How to remove HS backing plate?

The 1U heatsinks that I ordered were not as described, they are too tall to fit in my case. So I need to return them to the seller.

The problem is that the mounting plate behind the mobo has an adhesive strip.

How do I get the backing plates off of my mobo so I can return them to the seller?

Heat it up with a hair dryer and it will get tacky and you can pull it off.
