Blown Circuits

I have two Seagate Baracuda 7200 SATA hard drives, now what are the odds of two of these having the same circuit blown on them, both are blown the same way exactly, one of them has burn mark on the exact opposite side of the HD beneath one of the circuits. Picture attached. And what could cause this?

They were on the same system, and lets be honest, unless I knocked the thing over onto cement I dont think moving the case while its on would do it.

Those parts are near the power connector, have you checked your voltages using a digital volt meter? How long have you had the drives? Have you recently added anything to the same power cable?

Moving the case could have caused the power cable to move a little causing a short circuit, or as mentioned above your psu rails might be off.

Is it possible that piece could have gotten nicked/moved by something first, which thencaused a short and the burn mark?
