Stock overvolting on 9npa+ultra

This is the first rig I've put together in a while, and it's working fine, except for the temps. I'm using a +3000 Venice E3, which means the vCore is between 1.35 - 1.4. Even with the newest BIOS (June's I think), it's stock vCore is 1.5! There is no way to back it off either, only increase it by 0.025v a pop. Any ideas?
Mind you I will probably end up getting to this point, but I may not if I want to keep the temps lower.

Strangely enough, if you raise the vcore to the 0.025v setting, your chip will drop to 1.45v. A little quirk with this particular board. Some boards are reporting high cpu temps, but it is not indicitive of the actual temp. I forget what BIOS I am using ATM, but it reads temps pretty close to actual. It's a beta BIOS and once I reboot I can let you know (or maybe I'll install the windows flash utility, it will tell me as well.

awesome, and yet not.
So I'll take it off auto and put it up .025. Thanks.
I'm having some OC'ing problems too, but there is a lot to take in with this onboard memory controller thing. I've had it corrupt with the HT @ 4x, HTT 220MHz and Memory set at DDR400. With a little more fooling I'll get it right, and some help from the forums.

thanks
gardner

EDIT: Aparently there's a newer BIOS than what's on the Epox website, the flash utility found a 7/28/05 file, fixes some dualcore things I think.

What memory are you using with your board and what kind of HDDs? List all of your hardware and we can help you OC your system. Easiest way is to list it in your signature, taht way we don't have to keep scrolling to the top of the page, just look at yoru last post.

done & done
I don't think it can be the memory, I have it on auto timings, and set the DDR speed to 400, async of the HTT. I have not checked the purity of the rails, but the monitor shows vCore dipps 0.02v on loads. Oh, and I tried the +0.025 for the CPU, and it just upped it to a steady 1.500v even.

first, flash to the latest bios. http://www.epox.com.tw/eng/support.php?ps=335&type=1

then if you still have problems after the flash, we can start to narrow it down to the hardware.

Ah, I was hoping it was that, but I've already flashed with that one. It took because the new memory options showed up, and in POST it declares 1 CPU (lame, like a kick in the nads) I wonder if EPox even knows this is happening? I'll drop them a line when I get back to my computer tomorrow. But please keep the ideas rolling in.

I do. I was saying the POST screen is taunting me saying I only have 1 CPU, knowing there are ones out there with two. Sorry for the confusion.
Under load it's reading between 1.475v and 1.48v.

it only bumped it up around 1.515v. And I figured the problems with OC'ing was my lack of understanding in the memory divider department. dropped it down to DDR333. that fixed it.
