ATI to release X800GT in 2 weeks

August 8th is one date that is being bandied about - but don't expect to see them in North America for at least a week or two after that. Initial production is likely to be for the Asian market.

Interestingly enough, two different GPU core's will bear the X800GT label - the R423 and the R480; but both will have eight pipes

The knife in BF2 is like a defribrillator for those who aren't paying attention.

so basically its a 9800 pro???? I mean why dont they just push the the older cards instead of making new names. Well maybe be it will be faster with updated ram and stuff. But still its another 8 pipe card.

Well, not exactly a 9800pro. The X700pro > 9800xt, and its 8pipe 128bit.
