Hey.. how do you change the ownership of a mounted device? In knoppix, I was using an external usb hard drive. To mount the drive, I needed to be root. Once mounted, the drive was only writeable by root..

How can you change the owner of the mounted drive? I tried chown, but after trying several combinations, it told me that I couldn't use chown...

I eventually figured it out by just using the GUI, but I wanted to be able to do it from the CLI..

man mount

you will need to remount that device with the new changed parameters. and you will need to be root.
