Hi there,

I have a S754 K8N Neo Plat. and got some new RAM to replace my Kingston KVR. I bought an OCZ Platinum 1024 MB (2*512 MB) EL PC3200 Rev 2 kit with the hopes of bringing my RAM along for the ride on the overclock I have going right now.

Each module individually (512) runs @ 250 Mhz 2.5-3-3-6 @ 2.65v no problem in memtest86, however when they are run together I can't even get them stable @ 230 Mhz. I have tried every possible combination in the slots.

OCZ seems to think having 2 512 MB DIMMs in an overclocked state on a single channel system is overloading the memory controller, however I would like to know what you think.

Anyone out there with a S754 K8N with 2 512 MB modules oc'ed to 230+ Mhz?

Note: I have downclocked my CPU to 1.8 Ghz to remove it as a variable, as well as having played with VCore up to 1.55v, command queuing at 1T & 2T, Vdimm upto 2.85v and timings as loose as 3-7-6-15.

I don't have a 754 board, but I can tell you that if I put my dual channal ram in single channel mode, my board runs it at 333MHZ default. This would point to issues with the memory ontroller on the winchester. However, on a 754 board, I would have thought that 2x512 would overclock fine. Good luck with it.

I don't know if you have "Agressive Timings" option in BIOS, but when it's enabled on my board the memory can't go more than 230HTT 1:1. When I disable it, thay can do 285 @ 2.8v. Good luck!

Can you tell me what is your memory bandwidth score using sandra for both 1T and 2T at 1:1 ratio @ 285? I have the Agressive Timings disabled and I can't hit over 230 at 2-2-2-5-1T (1:1).

Unfortunately I can't do 285HTT 1:1 with this 1.9 bios :bang head . Here are the results I gethered with 1.9 bios, the average bandwidth value after three runs: 275HTT, 2.5-3-3-7-1T @ 2.85v, Int: 6930, Float: 6850; with 2T Int: 6281, Float: 6288. For some strange reason Sandra is reporting that the memory runs at 2T in both cases. Sorry, I don't know how to take screenshots to show you the results.
*Update: I just went back to 1.8. 285HTT 1:1, 2.5-4-4-8-1T @ 2.85V(bios),
the average Sandra memory bandwidth after 3 runs is Int: 7129, Float: 7046.
