$2 less than your other source.

The Via Aqua 1800 is my pump of choice because it costs $20 & is better built than the $17 1300 which is what most Via Aqua users have.

A higher end option would be the MCP655. Its a great pump if you feel like spending ~$70 or whatever its price is. It has superior pressure & flow which is good for if you get higher restriction parts in the future.

couple questions about that pump 1.) can you use it externally (not submurged) and 2.) can you power it with the power supply?

I believe the Via Aqua required modding to be run inline, and runs off of a 115v AC source. The MCP655 is an inline 12v DC pump.

The Via Aqua 1300 & higher can be run inline without mods. They are AC pumps. You can get a relay to turn them on with the computer though.

The via aqua 1800 is about the cheapest pump you are going to get. If you really want to go the DC route and still go with best price, you could go with a CSP-MAG ($50). You do however get what you pay for.
