Not sure where to ask this...

NOt sure where to ask this, but figured I'd start here, and if its wrong it'd get moved I got a few programs today that were open source(LAME encoder and MAD decoder). My question is how do you install them. They don't have a setup file, or something that even seems like a setup or install file. Just wondering what I need to do to install these, Thanks in advance for any help=)

WOW! We're on the same wavelength!! Just yesterday I was going to update my version of LAME. Unfortunatly, I couldn't find a free C compiler that was small anywhere (I'm a BASIC programmer. All I gots is BASIC comilers!), so found a pre-compiled version of it. Here is the link to it if you want it.

http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/download.html

It has a DLL version that can be used by some rippers (I'm using Audiograbber), and also an executible that (I assume) can be executed at the command prompt, or as an external MP3 encoder.

Where it said "Lame DLL" or whatever, was a .ZIP file that contained a DLL and some EXEs along with some documentation.

Of course, you could compile it yourself. I was going to, but like I said, I couldn't find a compiler. You should have the absolute latest version though (unlike me.... unless he dosen't release small updates).

Hope it works well for ya either way!
