thx guys.... it keeps failing Prime95 for some reason and freezes when the cpu is tasked 100%... but everything else works fine... Word, AIM, Yahoo, Firefox... hmmm maybe to need to throw some more volts at it.... cooling aint a problem... My board makes a hi pitch noise when it runs ths high... maybe a new BIOS? whenever i go over 2.0v, the board just doesn't wanna post.... kinda strange... any suggestions? I've backed it down to 240x11 = 2.65 and everything is good to go.... I guess maybe the southbridge is overheating? I'll try a differnt BIOS...I'll keep ya updated..mighta found this poor little Barton's max...we'll see if I can't bend her to my evil will.... muhahahahaha!!!

Usually its the PSU that makes these high pitched noise.
What brand/model is your PSU, and what is your +12v and +5v rails at when you're under full load by prime95?

Eck!!! That reminds me of the symptoms I had with my Athlon XP T-bred 2400+ when at an OC wall.

I can't even get 2430 mhz without Windows locking up when running Prime95.
Even the mouse pointer would freeze when running Prime95.

Thus the processor temperature could be higher than being displayed on the screen by Motherboard Monitor 5, because it also stops updating when that symptom occurs. Thus I was required to scramble to the BIOS setup utility and when I did, at least once, saw the processor temperature at approximately 160 F degrees!!! (I saw it at 158 F degrees)

When I gotten my Athlon XP T-bred B 2400+ back on August 3, 2004, I wanted to get at least 2.5 ghz if not 2.6 ghz!!! Boy I was disappointed.

Wasn't stable at all at 2.5 ghz, ended up getting a BSOD before the Windows boot process could complete or other crash before the Windows boot process could complete, even with 1.875V!!!

Very nice.

I'm sure my locked 2800+ could do that as it will do 2650 with 1.8 vcore but that is the max my board will give

i hope those mosfets are sinked. at 2volts i recommend sinks with active fan they get very hot at that high voltage.

Nice Overclock, maybe try some liquid cooling to gain extra stability?

Very Nice O/C, but you are seeing this chip needs more volts, but I don't think you get it stable 24/7 on air at those speeds as it will require an un-godly anmount of voltage

Excellent work! Few people get great OCs on desktop Bartons anymore, nice to see someone else with one. Mine isn't as impressive as yours, but I was chuffed with it. I think you just managed to justify water cooling of phase change

Pinmod or bridge mod it to give 1.825 or 1.85 volts.

Go here and click workshops on the left, then go to the interactive pin-mod guide. I've had more success with the wire in socket method than bridge painting.

pooo... looks like it just ain't stable at 2.7... I thought it was.... Guess i posted a bit pre-maturely....it looks like its topping out at 2.68.... thats 243x11 w/ 2.03v... maybe I need to sink the mosfets... I'm just too lazy to take everything apart right now... thats a little over a 21% o/c....any suggestions...? More juice perhaps? Anyone know if there's a hard mod to do to the Bartons to unlock the multi? I seriously doubt it b/c this is a locked chip though... Thanks guys!

That's still a superb OC for a desktop part, not many mobiles can hit that speed. And no, there's no way to unlock this chip, sorry.
