Got my rad and pump today

Today, my black ice extreme 3 and eheim 1250 pump were delivered. They both look nice and sturdy, except my rad is dented along one side. I dont know if i should try to get DangerDen to replace it, or just try to straighten it out, or leave it. I took some pics, thought you all might like a peek. When i left work today i was in a hurry and completely forgot about my goodies sitting there beside my desk, back in their shipping box. I'll get them home and try to get mroe of a plan on layout tomorrow, gotta work the saturday :-(. I'm still waiting to get tubing and my block, that I was going to have ordered monday but one of our antenna sites got hit by lightning at work and I completely forgot about it. Sooo i hope to get the block ordered tomorrow (swiftech Storm) and maybe some tubing and fans monday.

I'm still leaning towards 114 cfm panaflos, i would like to find a cheaper price than newegg has them for tho, then maybe i could afford 6 instead of 3. The case is coming along slowly, between work and sleep i have verry little time any more, and school starts wednesday for me. I hope to have this all done within a month, but it seems like im pushing it. I'll have a rivet gun on monday, so then im sure i will be able to really start pushing forward on the case. some pics im proud of:

Good stuff, hope its going well for you. I've heard several ppl claim to recieve a less than perfect radiator, if there is a serious prob with it DD with most likely replace it.

These bare-wire fans are a good value and would work well with the BIX3 http://www.plycon.com/fans/mecha120.htm

wow that is great for a fan, i was thinkin of payin $18 each from newegg.

unless anyone can find a better deal it looks like ill go with these.

How would DD do on shipping? its not worth it to me to have to pay shippin again. unless this is bad enough to cause leakages or something, i think ill jsut try to straighten it out. I will send DD an email tho.

I am still confused as to why anyone with such a huge rad would want/need such powerful and loud fans.

I mean, what's the point? Temps?

You can get crazy low temps with an SP-94 and a tornado. You can get crazy oc's with a bix3 and 5v fans, though your temps may be a little higher.

Why do folks that go water sport so much wood when talking about extremely high cfm fans?

Weird!

Powerful fan helps move more of the heat from the radiator. Loud noise is optional. If someone really want to suck a lot out, making a shroud and hooking the rad to a shop vac will do the trick.

these fans are also forcing air through my drive cages, across 5 hard drives and through the rest of my system. the drive cages themselves will do a number on the airflow, and with this setup I should have a cooling capacity that can handle many CPUs to come. and if i like to keep my ambient temp at a comfortable level (somewhat higher than the 60 degrees F that my comp would like) the cooling power is dramatically reduced.

and finally, not many people around here runnin water (none that i know of in town) and the case mods involved are fun, and these will likely end up being the only fans in my case, except on the vid card and in the PSU. I want enough flow through the hard drives and aross the board to keep things like FETs and chipset and other goodies cool. and is it a problem that i like to "sport wood" ? and if i really wanted extremely high CFM fans, id go with the 220 CFM deltas.

I wanted the experience of water cooling, and the bragging rights. so if i'm going to do it, might as well go with a high end BA system, that is worth sporting wood over. Plus it fits into my case plans well. so hey, ill sport wood, you're not, we're both happy.

LOL, well I see your point, of course. I'm running a Prescott on a 478 mobo, so I understand the importance of having enough case flow, though I use 38cfm fans and they are totally silent yet do the trick. Just different goals I guess. I'm sure you'll probably have those on a controller or volt modded at least, right?

umm... probably not, right now im running 3 80mm tornados and a TT screamer, all at full 12Vs. i grew immune to it after the first few days, and im thinking that the 120s wont be as much as the high pitched noise, more of a whooshing. as long as the temps are good, its all im worried about. few hundred watts to the speakers and you dont hear it any more
