What is the scale of that image? I'm not very familiar with the sizes of chinese coins.

Yep, it appears to be a heat producing power chugging monster. Now if you will be able to actually get ahold of one before next year is another thing.

How sure are you that its real? (it looks like) Its not attached to a card yet, so why does it already have the shim on it?

That doesn't look all that different from an R420/480, but with the process shrink it looks big enough

I so cannot wait for this chip...

anyone else have the feeling that this might be another FX 5800?
i really hope not... but im going to expect more from ATI

Only if its delayed until Decemberish. Performance-wise, I think it'll best the 7800 for a single card, especially with the insane clocks being rumored (I think I read somewhere 600 MHz ). What will be interesting, even though I won't be doing it, is seeing how the multi-card performance works out with nVidia having such a head start.
