PC P&C Turbo 510 SLI w/ Custom fan anyone?

I have seen people refer to PC P&C being able to do a custom fan (quieter) in the Turbo 510 SLI model.

Does anyone know the details as far as which fan they offer, price, leadtime etc?

(Yes I would call myself but they are closed this time of day)

Well if you get the latter revision then you don't need to wory about loud fan since they only used Delta ones on their first models.

I believe the current ones use Deltas and the ones made last year used a Nidec that was louder... but I have seen reference to a custom fan you can specify. Sanyo?

There are two EFB's, a low speed one and a high speed one:

Low Speed: 57.60 CFM @ 2800 RPM, 36.0 dBA

High Speed: 79.81 CFM @ 4000 RPM, 46.0 dBA

I'm not sure which of the two they use. You can check them out at SideWinder: http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/92mmfans.html

I know for sure it's a 3 blade delta, becuase I saw a picture of a guy modding a brand new PCP&C 510 SLI to change the fan and took out a 3 blade delta fan. I'll try to find it.

EDIT: found the pic: http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...V2000PSU_4.jpg

I just called them. At first I must have spoken with one of their tech people because when I asked about prices he transferred to sales. Anyway, he said there is no custom fan option.

Later when I spoke to the salesperson, she said they do some kind of different resistor for a small fee if you are looking for something to run quieter.

So I guess if you want to do a custom fan you're on your own.

The resistor is a good idea.

It's a high speed Delta Triblade 80x25. The Nidec that they used to use was apparently quieter.

Look at the bottom of this page.

If you are truely concerned about how lud your poer supply is you should consider something like a Seasonic S12 600 instead.

Yeah newegg would have the latest revision and I believe what makes them quieter than before isn't the fan, but the control circuit is set up so it doesn't go as hard until it really heats up.

Right now you want to order from PC P&C direct though, they are doing 10% off. http://www.pcpowercooling.com/20th/

I'd have to agree. My 510 Deluxe (which has the 3 blade delta) is quite quiet on start-up. But after a bit of use it gets quite loud.

BTW do PC P&C PSU's use a PWM way of controlling fan speed? Because the fan has a very annoying tick, like some of the fans i have on my T-Balancer.

The fan ticking doesn't sound good, you don't want it one day to fail and fry everything. Call them up and see if you can get it replaced.
