budget laptop for my mom

hi,my mom is in real estate, and wants an inexpensive laptop....asked me for her help...she's really looking for the best deal....but also most reliable...and best warranty and customer service....i'm thinking 700 to 900 $

ive asked over at bbr forums...seems dell and hp have something at a low price thats good.........thanks for any help..

oh yea ...she has a desktop....she would like to be able to email pics of houses to her clients...while still in the driveway...don't know what kind of connecting options she has in her area.

You probably looking for something with centrino cpu, intergrated graphic card, combination of this two will give long battery life and money savings.

With a budget of 700-900 could you get a 700m with a coupon

Agreed, centrino would be good same with integrated graphics

it doesnt seem like she will be doing much more than typing or internet. i'd pick up a 400mhz p2 on craigslist for 150 and maybe a wifi card for 30 more, and just load it with memory. I got one for my father and he loves his, its fast enough for word processing and internet.

Dell all the way. If she does not mid the small keyboard, 700M's rock. But I would recomend the 6000D With an X300 64MB.
