BSOD when using flash drive/digital camera FIXED!

Using Win XP Pro w/ SP2 and all updates along with all updates from HP (including bios and VIA USB updates).
When I put any USB flash drive in, I get a BSOD when it tries to access it. The same thing happens with my Sony Digital camera. It will install it, see it, and then when it is able ready to say it's ready to use, I get the BSOD. This DOES NOT happen in safe mode, so that could be a clue (driver issues or something??).
BSOD info:
No more irp stack locations
stop error is: 0x00000035 (0x83D0A540, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
Any ideas? Running virus protection and adaware/spybot.

Edit:
After spending the night doing research and messing around with the problem, I figured it out.

First, I found that it branches a lot from Norton Ghost,a antivirus program that I can't remember the name of (a small one I've never heard of). I had neither, or faulty ram.

I found that if I boot the system up with the flash drive already plugged in that the problem did not occur and I could access it fine, but it only happens when I plug it in when windows is already started up.

So I uninstalled McAfee (distributed through my school) and that completely cleared the problem up. Reinstalled, checked it, problem came back, unistalled, checked it, problem went away again. So I told OIT about the problem and I'll see what they have to say.

How about this? Just a guess. It seems to be staying that Norton AntiVirus might be the cause....

anyway, good luck with it. There is a reg hack there too.

Sadly, that didn't work, but thanks for trying! Anyone else have any ideas?
