using access point as a repeater?

hi,

can all access points be used as a signal repeater to extend the reach of a wireless router? Or is it a special function in the accesspoints/routers? seen some routers/ap's with different modes.... unfortunately the one i have around here doesnt have any mention of modes:

http://www.edimax.com.tw/html/englis.../BR-6114Wg.htm

it's just an access point.. can i still use it to extend the range of my current wlan? if so, How?

thanks
