Personally I'd grab some PC4000 Redline's or an old set of Mushkin LII PC3500 1GB

so, high voltage memory beats low voltage memory in 01?

Probably cause it will do super lower timings @ super high clocks. 260, 1.5-2-2-5 will probably be what you get with enough voltage.

Ive seen some crazy results with the Redline, HouseRat's redline = . I know price isn't an option but, the Mushkin Redline PC4000 is only like $200 USD for 1gb (512x2). Excellent price for the performance you get outta them. If your THAT attached to OCZ, get the PC4000VX w/ some DDR Boosters. BTW, whats wrong with your current ram?

one of the sticks have gone bad recently.will only work in slot 3.contacts on it appear to be chipped.both sticks are running together right now but only in single channel, ddr333 and 2t.should i rma?

EDIT:currently memtest and prime stable.

Imho this debate over high speed or low latency is more of an individual situation that makes 1 better that the other. And for people without unlucked multis (meaning ya dont have an FX) it makes it harder for each situation to work out. looking at your sig you have a 3200. With a 10X multi. so for you to run 1:1 your limited by memory speed which is a gamble for anything over 255 with some VX rams. so ya would need to look at running dividers, which for me ( but not everyone ) dividers have been sorta a headache. And with that ya may need to lower multi and run divider to make ram and CPU max out.

Now with high speed rams, ya need something thats gonna do close to 300mhz with nothing more than 2.5-3-3 timmings to be about the same as a BH/utt ram at 250. SO with a Tccd ram ya can get where ya want without dividers, but only need to drop multi. Only factor being that ur ram can do the 2.5-3-3 at the top speeds where ya need it. As lots of the higher end rams wont do 300 without raising trcd to 4. ( yes i know many do but none are a sure thing) Cus the trcd at 4 will kill system scores of 01. well it wont kill em, but will make it less than if your situation works with bh/utt ram at around 250.
For me I own both 4000vx, and gskill LE's and use whichever is best for the situation of clockspeed, multi, and ram limits.

Very good points d]g[ts.

TCCD running a divider with that chip will be better if the dividers cooperate and his chip/cooling can take it beyond 2.7Ghz

your just spoiled with FX's

the main thing is the dividers, and how, and if they work properly. I personaly like low latency memories, but sometimes with locked upper multis. TCCD based mems can better fit a certain situation. But it does work the other way too where bh/utt can work out better. all depends on where the chip maxes, and what combos your left with.

btw is it possible to run a mem divider higher than the stock 200? i see my bios shows options of 100, 133, 166, 183, 200, 216, 233 and 250 as far as i can remember.so is it possible to ramp up the mem speed using the higher mem dividers without touching the cpu clock/multiplier?

also my 01 score is still abnormally low.19932 at stock clocks.even that prescott setup i used to have did better than that! i think its because my ram will only run in single channel, ddr333(even though the mem divider is at 200 so whats up with that?) and 2t mode though i could be wrong it might be my cpu,s lack of clockspeed anyway both sticks of ram will be rma,d soon i swear.

local ocz supplier out of business...ocz fanboyism leaving...considering...other...brands .
