Unhappy I need some real help here with getting my card to work again!

So me, being the curious one I am, decided to flash my 6800 256MB PCI-E card with the same BIOS it already had only I modified the default clock speeds and voltage. To make it quick and less painful, the flash did not go according to plan and now I can't get the 6800 to work. So, I pop in my PCI card (a geForce 2) and download the correct BIOS and nvflash. I pop in a bootable floppy, then once it loads, I pop in the floppy with the BIOS and nvflash and I put in this command. nvflash -f -p 0 dell.rom. I hit enter and this a whole list of possible commands comes up with no flashing accoring. I'm using 5.13 is that helps. I download wfflash and I go to try and flash and it wants to flash my PCI card with the 6800 BIOS instead of my PCI-Express card. I hear there are no windows based flashing utilities which really stinks! Can someone tell me the correct command prompt I should be using or a different program that fully supports flashing PCI-Express cards? Thanks

I wish I could help you but the last time I tried nvflash it took me like 10-15 tries before I got it to work. I think there is a command to dissable the write protection on the card and another command to force flash the card even if the device ID doesn't match. You have to make sure you use both of those commands.

I hope that helps, GOOD Luck

Yeah, I've tried nvflash like a thousand times and it still doesn't work. I got wfflash to run in Win XP command prompt and it says it can't find a nv adapter. I've just downloaded WinFox and hopefully I can get it to flash there. Otherwise, I'm about to call it quits on this card.

Okay, I've tried just about every possible combination (with the exception of the right one ) and I still can't get it to flash. I know the card still works because it shows up as one of the two adapters. I can't flash it though because it says the BIOS I'm trying to flash it with doesn't match some ID string. Is there a command I can do to make it bypass the ID string and just flash it anyway? For the record, I've already tried "nvflash -f -p 0 DELL.rom" so I know that one doesn't work.

I think you can find the correct command string at Mvktech, I would link however it appears their site is down. I know they had the string listed for overriding the vendor I.D., I just don't recall what it is right now. I believe you can find out under "flashing bios guide".

Yey, I got it working thanks to MVKFLash_SLI_Flash.V1.2. It overrides all that crapp nvflash stuff! My hat is off to them, now, I have my $200 card working again!
