what does this mean?

its called the memory's timings. If you can adjust the timings of the memory, you can make ram run more efficently or more stable. If you tighten (decreasing the value) you make the ram run faster... however this can lead to an unstable computer. If you loosen (increase the value) then your computer wont run quite as fast, but your ram shouldnt effect the stability of your computer... when overclocking
 
I know what memory timings are and I know how to oc them but i'm hearing about people tlaking about them in conjunction with but in addition to the usual x-x-x-x

EDIT: i think i might know :p, is that refering to the cas latency (the first number in the timings), so 1t would be 1-x-x-x?
 
It used to be known as CPC, command per clock. Double-sidded ram has a hard/impossible time running 1t and is stuck to 2t where single sided ram usually can run 1t all day (used to be that way, not sure if it's still that way). 1t = better performance by ~3%

Quick Review

This BIOS feature allows you to select the delay between the assertion of the Chip Select signal till the time the memory controller starts sending commands to the memory bank. The lower the value, the sooner the memory controller can send commands out to the activated memory bank.

When this feature is enabled, the memory controller will only insert a command delay of one clock cycle or 1T.

When this feature is disabled, the memory controller will insert a command delay of two clock cycles or 2T.

The Auto option allows the memory controller to use the memory module's SPD value for command delay.

If the SDRAM command delay is too long, it can reduce performance by unnecessarily preventing the memory controller from issuing the commands sooner.

However, if the SDRAM command delay is too short, the memory controller may not be able to translate the addresses in time and the "bad commands" that result will cause data loss and corruption.

It is recommended that you try enabling SDRAM 1T Command Control for better memory performance. But if you face stability issues, disable this BIOS feature.
