a friend of mine has just bought a dfi lanparty nf4 sli-dr and would like to know what slots and how many he can occupy and still have it running in dual channel mode.

thanks

He needs to have two DIMMS occupied to run in DC. Meaning either 2&4 (orange slots) which are used in most cases or if he has UTT/BH chips then you can go with 1&3 (yellow) slots.

I had a lot more success with my UTT in the orange slots than yellow. I got about 10 more mhz (270 at 3.5 v) compared to 260 @ 3.5 in the yellow.

what's the difference in the way the mem controller deals with the differrent colored slots? In other words, why would one dual channel slot pair be different than another?
