That kind of stuff? Thats ifconfig but that might not be what your looking for.
 
and i need to allow one ip address to access my computer... i kinda firewall
 
sorry i need to see the avalible computers on the network (mixed linux and windows) and beable to access it (pref through a gui) and i also need to be able to allow only certian ip addresses
 
Samba is the program you need to set up to see/mount windows shares. nfs can be used to mount other unix shares.
