Okay this is the problem, I have a 3000+ with stock heatsink on it, check my sig for the speed and stepping and so on (stats).
I goto into my ASUS A8N-E BIOS and choose 310 X 7 and it show 2170 MHz which is fine, then when I go onto windows and use CPU-Z and my own speed util it says 2110 MHz, and the HTT is set back to 300, no matter what setting I use my ASUS A8N-E board WONT go above 300 HTT, I have tried 4 different BIOSes am and now at 1009 Beta.
ANyone else got the problem.

I know the A8V's aren't the greatest boards for overclocking, but I'm not sure if they are supposed to be able to get past 300HTT
check the manual to see if it tells you anything about it, or if there are jumpers for it you need to set

It turns out to be the bios above 1006 that was the prob, now got it at 315 MHz
