This is if you wanna overclock a little...
If you don't want to overclock, then go with cheaper RAM to decrease the price.

But there are so many different variables you can't just say "i wanna build a computer for $500, help!" What do you need it for? Do you want to overclock it? etc....etc... Details man..
ENJOY

if you have a buddy thats an ocforum.com member and has access to the classifieds section here, have him browse.

there are so many deals that you could easily put a nice pc together or at least get some good fans/heatsinks other hardware for cheap.

Those are pretty decent choices that all put together would make a pretty good system.
Very nice.
You would even get a SATA drive and PC4800 ram and its an Nforce 4 board and a A64 chip man that will give you some headroom to work with LOL.

Nice job on the searching to help this guy.
