best card <$300

I'm getting a new videocard since i'm upgrading to pci-e. I'm selling my 6800gt for $300, so that's my budget for a new card. I was looking around and i'm deciding between a x800gto2 and another 6800gt, but feel free to offer any better ideas. I wanted to check with u guy's to see what the best one was. Thanks for any help

I hate it when people do this to me, but you could get a x850xt for $319.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102483

Otherwise another 6800GT would be good or x850pro.

I have never seen a x850xtpe or 7800GT for $300, i need hard evidence to believe that, lol.

I'd say use the money from your current 6800GT sale and drop in some extra cash to get a 7800GT. Look around pricewatch or pricegrabber.com to find some good deals.

If you must be under $300 than another 6800GT or an X800XL will be great. But, if you can spend the extra cash, the 7800GT is an excellent choice.

I'd say Connect3d x800 GTO. Its ~$180, a lil faster stock than a GTO2 and comes w/ VIVO and a better coppper heatsink.

I'd stay away from the geforce 6 series. Very weak compared to the X8*0's

Don't know what quailane is smoking but regardless, dude, for a noticeable improvement, drop another $20-50 and get a 7800, tis the best value with ur budget and such. Or perhaps look at other areas of your system, new dvd burner, extra hard drive (faster hard drive). a raptorII would be sweet and you could probably fit that in with another 6800gt if you got it for cheap for what you wuold spend on just a 7800.

I'd go with a 7800GT or X800GTO˛. You can flash the bios on that particular X800, and make it an X850XT or even XT PE.

The cheapest place I can find it is at ZipZoomFly, at $229. It started off as $199, but then Newegg and Allstar caught on and raised their prices.

I have an X800pro. I bought a 6800ultra to replace it. It couldn't match the pro when both were overclocked in America's Army (ut2k4), half-life2, or 3dmark05, so I sold the 6800ultra on ebay.

you play at low resolution and detail or something? if you play your games in a way where the clock speeds are the only thing that would vary performance, yeah, a 6800 ultra or gt wouldn't hold up..... though if you have such a nice card, what the heck are you doing man!?!?!? Also keep in mind that the typical gamer plays more than jsut 2 game engines.... FarCry alone would through your assessment wayyy off.
