Hi, I'm about to get a 250 dollar credit to newegg, and was thinking of upgrading to a 7800 GT. Was wondering between 7800 GT users, which brands did best in core / memory overclocks, and preferably from a company that has lifetime warranty. Also, if anyone has recommendations on aftermarket coolers, that would be great too.

My eVga comes overclocked at 445/1070 and I am using rev 01 bios. Many folks are using rev 02 bios to help eliminate tearing due to high extensive games like FEAR and BF2. I recently did an autodetect and got a whoping 511/1160 but did see some artifacts in 3Dmarks. So far, I can clock without artifacts and gaming CSS for hours at 486/1160 with stock colling.

This is the card I have.

Probably Leadtek ones might be the best STOCK OCing cards, due to the fact that they have the biggest heatsinks and stuff, but then I'm not sure if that applies to the 7800GTs.

I guess they all would OC about the same, since their made from the same architecture, I would choose between eVGA or BFG, XFX makes good ones too.

I'm scared of the Leadtek card, I saw reviews on newegg of people having problems with running at the stock overclock (the stock o/c is pretty high i think).

I saw a positive review of the XFX at bjorn3d, it runs at 450 / 1100 stock i believe. I have a feeling most cards would do about the same, as the coolers all look the same. So just wondering which cards use the best ram chips or seem the most stable in people's results.

My XFX sucked overclocking wise, the mem did pretty good going up to 1.2ghz+ while the core only went up to 472 from 450.

I've had two, and what can I say they worked but no game bundle with them, some of the new cards have games for a little extra, also they have stickers so you can let everyone know you have a eVga :) .

I recently did a survery on line of all the 7800GTs and I came to the conclusion that the BFG was the best for the money. Even though the XFX comes with the highest stock speed, the BFGs were overclocking higher. Here are all the references I used. . .
