I was wondering if there were any hard drive deals flying around. I am needing large capacity ones, at least 200GB.

dude these days hd's are plain cheap
its now the norm to get a 250gig sata for under $100 shipped :D

I am building a rig that needs to be done before Christmas holiday. It will be a back-up of a network. It will be running an athlon 64 and have to store over 1TB and remain easily expandable. Another consideration is weight and size as it needs to be very portable. I was thinking of an antec lanboy with 5.25 inch hard drive cages (3 drives for every two cd rom bays)

First one is SATAI while second one is SATAII, not much of a "deal", but adequate for what your looking for.

dude.. that 2nd one is HOT! that is comparable with the raptor from what i have read.. i would buy 2 of them if they were under $100 each shipped.. even at $230 for 500gigs.. thats amazing because its sataII (3GB) AND 16mb buffer! man.. why must you tempt me?

Imho the best hard drive deals are AR deals from the major Brick and Mortar retailers, you just have to wait for the right time. Like 3 months ago I got a 160gb Seagate 8mb cache drive for $40 and I have seen those and the 120s going for $30-50 since then.

I would wait for Black Friday, you should be able to pick some up for extremely cheap. According to bfsavings.com CompUSA is going to have a Seagate 200gig HDD for 29.99. I'm sure that Best Buy will have good deals when thier Ad comes out also.

I would wait if you can...
