I've installed xp and upgraded to SP2 on about 2 million PC's with no problem.

I just built a PC for a buddy with these specs..
3200+
ASUS A8N-SLI Premium
1 gig PQI Turbo---Currently running one 512 of my corsair till PQI arrives
X800gt 128(for now..256 on its way.. ordered wrong one..lol)
2optical drives, one cdrw/dvdrom and one dvdrw+-
TT 420w
seagate 160gig 8mb cache Pata

I installed a copy of xp home SP1a ordered from newegg
Got most of the updates, some kept failing.
Keep getting SP2 when windowsupodate.com scans for updates.
It will download all the way, and then fail at very beginning of install.
I've tried it about 2zillion times.
Windows Customer no-service says I need to pay $35.00 to get help, cause it's OEM
Any ideas anyone?

DL'ing administrative version now, Thank you!!

Haven't scanned for viruses or spyware, its a fresh install. Just doing my updates and sp2 before installing everything so its not wasted if I need to reinstall.

How do I use/get eventvwr?

The administrative version is corrupt.. Dl'd it twice.
Hmmmm..... bad network cable?
lemme check..

changed cable.. trying agin as we speak
also switched lan ports to be safe

EDIT: Nope.. no go with windowsupdate.com.. I'll try administrative again..

administrative didn't work with new cable either.
Have been updateing other pcs with this hub and cables, so they are not the problem.
Any Ideas?

Thx for all the replies, folks!!

I formatted and re-installed XP. SP2 installed just fine. Now, I can't get Net. framework to install.. lol

Who friggin knows..
I have other pcs running on this same hub, and all can get the updates fine.
