dual core is not the same as dual CPU.

What board do you intend to put them in, and can you get a bit more info on the Xeon's?

well someone else bought them now, but i have a new question then, i'm wanting to make a dual xeon server, i havent touched dual cpu boards. Do the 2 cpus have to be dual core? or can they be two normal cpus put into a motherboard. Is dual core 1 cpu ? is it ment to run with a brother cpu?

a dual core is similar, but vastly different from a dual CPU rig.

a dual CPU xeon server would have 2 seperate cpu's, in 2 seperate socets, with 1 core per cpu. total of 2 cores.

a dual core xeon server would have 1 CPU with 2 cores in one socket. you can also get dual-dual-core xeon rigs, for a total of 4 cores on 2 CPU's.

there are dual core xeon's, but they are very new, and most likely very expensive.

Physically yes. But from software's point of view it is identical.
