Hi all,

I'm trying to get my brothers dell dimention 8400 going and its just fighting me tooth and nail

here is what i know

he was playing bf2 and went down stairs came back and it was off
he hit the power button and it turned yellow (instead of the normal green) the fans spin up but it doesnt post

what ive done

ive opend it up

i disconnected the psu and reset the cmos
i removed the video card
i dissocnected everything from the back
i removed the Ram ( 2x512)

all that didnt cause it to post

i put in the dimms one at a time in diffrent combonations and nothing

so i finaly said !@#%@#$ it and put it all back to gether AND IT booted fine

i powered it down and back up and it posted again so i put it back under the desk

no post

I then repeated the procedure of removing everything and putting it back and it posted again just fine

any idea what it could be Dell thinks its a psu im not sure
