How to make BOINC run something else -ONLY- if SETI has no work?

How do you do this? i used to have climateprediction running on a very low resource share ratio (like, 1:9000) and I thought that this would mean that itd pretty much only run if SETI had no work (which is become increasingly frequent, but im not annoyed or anything ), but i found one day that SETI had filled its cache up, it had plenty of work to do, but it was crunching climateprediction WUs instead.. so i detached from project (im basically SETI only, been crunching for years on classic, when the only reason i had it was because the screensaver was to die for xD, then i started getting into the science of it)..

anyway, im oversharing :P basically, i came home today and had a look at my temps and was like "hmm.. damn thats unusually low".. checked taskmangler and oh dear.. my pc had been idle for 14hours >___<. So ive decided that im gonna crunch LHC (as the science behind that interests me too ), but i want it to only do LHC WUs when seti has -NO- work.. how exactly can i do this, if i can?

Thanks for the help, and crunch on!

I do this by attaching to another project and setting the resource split to be something along the lines of 1000000 for seti and 1 for the other project. (as you just described). I've never had trouble with it crunching the second project excessively - I would try setting the split to be much higher than 9000 and see if that clears up the problem.

I'm just letting my farm Cool it's heels for a bit....

If I was to try and add a second project now, by the time I got them all connected to the new project...SETI would BE RUNNING AGAIN.

If there was a way to change the settings for ALL OF THEM AT ONCE..then no problem.

ah, thanks for the replies i was under the impression the highest you could set your resource share was 10000 (i think i read that somewhere? maybe im wrong lol).. unfortunately it looks like LHC has no work either, as the current study is coming to an end so hopefully the next study will be up soon.. i hate having idle pcs >_<

Also don't use a project like Climate as a backup project as eventually BOINC will go into "panic" mode when it sees the Climate unit will miss its deadline and will start crunching it to make sure it gets done.

Preferably use something with shorter WUs and longer deadlines, such as Rosetta@home.
