Techno Radio!

Maxxoverclocker found this radio station on the internet, so I thought I might post it for you techno diehards out there. This station plays techno 24 hours a day broadcasted. It also has a nice bitrate (192K bits). For the most part, id recommend it.

Techno Radio!

it's funny (please nobody take offence from this) most north americans (excluding those living in big cities where there is a real dance scene) seem to lump most of dance music together either as techno or (even worse) electronica (a genre made up by madonna). see the recent threads on trance if you don't believe me . Europeans for the most part have no awareness of the diversity of psychedelic rock, blues, bluegrass and country, because they are so busy listening to their beloved 'indie' records (indie seems to have become a meaningless term of late). They also usually make the unforgivable mistake of calling unlistenable line dancing bile 'country music', lumping it together with great stuff like johnny cash. This is certainly true of a lot of the canadian side of my family, my freinds in the us and a lot of people that i know here in the uk. i think we all need to listen to more music

I have no idea what the hell to lump all dance music together as. If I say "dance music" they say "like rap?"

Yeah, it's a shame! Though with country music Mr Cash is more the exception than the rule - it's not that a few yee-haws give country a bad name, it's that there's not enough Johnny Cashes out there to give country a good name It's a polarizing musical form like hip hop. You're either really into it or it's just horrible. Not a lot of middle ground.

And for anyone reading around 1:45pm Pacific, tune into both radio stations for a little lesson. Right now Peter Breeze is playing what I'd consider a very classic hard/tribal techno sound vs. the trance/progressive of the first station. Should become pretty clear where 'techno' separates from 'trance'. Then tune to Underground FG to see what a classic French House sound is. Even though it's French house I consider it pretty true to the genre - so you can see where 'house', 'techno', and 'trance' separate. Not all 4x4 music is the same!

DnB/Bassdrive for the win, my favorite kind of Electronic music next to Industrial. Of course not all of it sounds great, but the harder stuff owns. One thing that is really annoying is these UK white guys who attempt to Rap over Drum & Bass, it completely ruins the songs! Reggae only people or better yet drop the lame rapping all together.
