dual core opteron


ok well i decided against going fx57 and getting a dual core opty .. but which one .. i wanna hit 2.7 .. i would be beyond happy .. and i need to order one asap ..

which one do u guys think would be best for 2.6-2.7 ..
either an opty 165, 170, or 175

zzf has the 165 and 175 in stock ??

IMO fo with the 170 as it has the 10x muilt as a default. 165=9x

seems tho that people with 170s arent hitting as high on average as the 165 ?? how about the 175 ?

I can agree with the 165 hitting the highiest of them that we have heard but you also gotta keep in mind not alot of people are getting the 170 so your not going to hear as much. I myself just like the idea of 10x300 1:1 possiblility if not @least 275 1:1 or something. There is some people who have gotten pretty good result's with the 170 BTW

2700 would be nice .. but who knows .. i just cant decide which one .. 165 or 170 .. i guess the 175 ill pass on

It is really up to how high your HTT will go on your mobo. To do 2.7 with a 165 you need to be able to run at 300htt stable. If your board will do that then the 165 is fine. If not, you'll need the higher multi.

well im pretty sure the dfi expert wont have problems with high htt .. as people have run 500 htt on it already

which will give me a better shot on 2.6+

IMO either 165 is alitte cheapier.

hmm yeah .. one problem i see if i get a golden 165 which i doubt .. and it can run like 2.8 - 2.9 ill have to go over 300 htt .. hmm dunno

hmmm .. at monarch .. they have oem 165 for 280 and oem 170 for 365 .. and the retail for 423 lol


hmm is it ok to buy oem .. or better for retail ?

If the prices are going down, you may want to wait a few days(or even a few weeks) and see how far they go and see where's the best deal.
