I've got a Sempron 2800+ that looks to be stable at 305MHz FSB on stock (1.4) voltage on an Abit NV8 (only two DIMMs). I'm looking to get 2GB of RAM that can come as close to a 1:1 with the Sempron as possible. I've done some research and narrowed it down to these:

According to this thread (3rd post), the Mushkin and G.Skills are the exact same. If this is true, the Mushkin is ruled out since it costs more.

Thoughts or suggestions?

Thank you in advance, btw: First Post here :)

:welcome: Welcome to the forums!

Im not sure about the PQI but I know the G.Skill and Muskin do well so id say its a toss up between the two. Id go with the G.Skill since they are $25 cheaper.

I would highly recommend the G.Skill DDR500 sticks. My buddies and I recently ordered them. Can say that they are great sticks and should take you to at least 275fsb at around 2.7volts.

Those sticks are with Samsung UCCC chips, which can be found in alot cheaper sticks too. I just got some cheap Samsung sticks that came with the chips.

It's not going to guarantee anything to have the same chips though, the quality control might vary from one manufacturer to the next.

I recently received some g skill 2gbhz as a xmas gift and so far i have them at 270 3-4-4-8, 1t, 1:1 and im still testing. I know my board can do 280 for sure so hopefully they have a bit more in them. But 2 gigs at ddr540 for ~$204 shipped is a heck of a deal.

Yeah, they are the same sticks. UCCC chips are the main high performance 1GB stick chip being used atm. And considering G.Skill is a better company and it costs less, I'd say it's a no brainer on that one. :)
