You can set it so it doesn't use the maximum fan speed until your processor reaches a temperature which you set.

i think you should be able to mess with the fan speeds from nTune

I remember that you can set the Fan speed to be at slow for a set temp and full speed at another temp for the CPU fan.

For the chipset it's default is off at under 25 degrees and slowly increases speed as temps go up until it hits 55 where it then goes to 100%.

It can control one more case fan according to the PWM temps.

i use ITE Smart Guardian to mess with fan speeds
