What is Cool n' Quiet? Do I want to enable or disable this if I'm trying to get a high oc?

You want it off, i'm not entirely sure on what it is, but check the stickies in the AMD section, there should be an explanation for it. Something about keeping amd chips cooler when the chip is idleing and giving it the ability to put out a little extra power when it's under load.

I was gonna give my own little explaination, but I figured my link would do it more justice...

Cool and quiet basically underclocks the processor when it is not being used. Useless for me, since I fold all the time, but some may like it. If you want to overclock, turn it off. BTW, c&q is the reason there is a "cpu driver" for a64's.

actually it can be possible to OC your CPU to it's fullest (280x10 on C&Q right now) but you have toi know the rules that govern this feature

Definetly turn it off if you're new to OCing.
OCing with Cool n' Quiet is pretty difficult.

That's the most common error IWasHungry, you do not find your OC with C&Q on, you OC without it and then you tweak your C&Q to match the requirement of your OC...

from a more non-overclocking standpoint, cool & quiet allows your cpu to dynamically clock itself (aka "throttling") based on the systems processing needs. it's a GREAT system to use with media pc's, etc. where noise and thermals are important but for oc'ing, i'd suggest that it's kinda moot.
