Completely new to this, so beware..

I got a new machine last summer
the mobo is an ASUS P5ND2-SLI-Deluxe, the CPU is a Pentium 4 (650) 3.4 GHz with Hyperthreading Technology. The memory is 2 Gig (512 x 4) of DDR2 (PC5300)

I've run CPUZ on the machine and here's some of the things it's telling me:

Clocks:
Core Speed: 2800 MHz
Multiplier: x14
FSB: 200 MHz
Bus Speed: 800 MHz

So here's my question: Why is the Core Speed only 2800? Shouldn't it be 3400 to match the potential of the CPU?

Yeah... that was my first thought.
According to my manual it only supports a multiplier up to x14.

Yes, looking further into the manual, it can do that if I have A.I. turned on.

I am going through a few scenarios to see how well it's overclocks.

Thanks!

EIST, when the computer is idle it drops multiplier to lowest (14x) to save power or something
