Hello, I need to burn-in a CPU and I was wondering if there is an utility in Overclockix to lower the voltage. The chipset is the Nvidia NF2 and the CPU is a XP-M 2500+.
I like Overclockix as burn-in tool, I use it often for memory.
I don't think there is. From linux you may be able to get voltage control through cpufreqd, but it may take some work and probably isn't set up in a live cd distro.
Yes. There's a plug-in or patch or something floating around for cpufreqd that lets you change the voltage on nforce2 boards. On gentoo, if you set the nforec2 USE flag, you get support for this. I'm not sure about other distros. Maybe start here: http://www.hasw.net/linux/
or at the cpufreqd homepage: http://cpufreqd.sourceforge.net/
