coa question

I bought a used computer with no hard drive, and it has a xp pro coa one the case. I'm have installed a hard drive and I want to install xp now. Just want to know if i can use the coa the unit came with? I have a upgrade copy of xp that was purchased at BB. I have an older 98 install cd to insert when the installer asks for it...

IME, the upgrade copy has its own key on the sleeve. I don't think you can use the one on the case (can't use the same coa for two copies).
