i am just adding this as an entry in the database for anyone using the search function (yes some of us do).
this weekend an old IDE drive acted up when i needed it the most (it contains the install CDs for all my software and hardware and i was doing a reinstall) and with this little program "get data back" i was able to recover all the data from my busted hard drive. i was surprised to see things i had erased a year ago available for recovery, just to test it i recovered both simcity4 CDs and the files were operable. nice!
