520W Modstream vs. Powerstream...

Hey everyone,

I will be buying my build soon and am looking where I can save some bucks. Originally I was going with the powerstream but the modstream of same power is 60 dollars (CDN) less that then powerstream. I just installed a modstream on my friends new build and its really nice. What are the technical differences between the two. I will have an opty that I will most like overclock.

Thanks.

Powerstream is a much better supply, modstream is more average quality. With a powerstream i'd be willing to power most high end computers overclocked where as the modstream could limit your OC with a very power hungry rig. I'd rather get a fortron 500w bluestorm than a 520w modstream.

For an Opteron, a Modstream is fine. You should also look at the Antec SmartPower 2.0 500w.
