The X1900XT/XTX/CF/AIW Thread

I plan to do with this thread the same thing I did with the X800GTO² thread so gentlemen & ladies start your engines. I'll be gathering links to as much knowledge and testing as I can find concerning these cards so we have a general reference thread. Please support the thread with as much info as you like. Pics, links, benchmarks, stable voltages, overclocking & cooling methods and anything else that will contribute to the advancement of these great cards are welcome. The X1900XTX/XT sticky thread is over 80 pages so let's see if we can beat that.

I guess I'll go first

Finally managed to get this 170 stable @ 2.9Ghz on air with BH-5. Next trick is to try it out on -60° and see if it can handle it. I have had no problems with ATI Tool at all, but I will say that the key to clocks is voltage. This XTX (maybe all of them) is different, it doesn't like lower memory voltage like the X1800's. In fact it needed a bit of a bump to eliminate artifacts at 855Mhz.

For you XT guys the voltages I used for these clocks are 1.425 GPU, 2.125 VDD , the rest were left stock. Peak temperatures as you can see in ATIT were just over 60°. I suggest some of you XT guys try these voltages and see what happens

Btw, there is no ATI Smart Service with this card/drivers. Only Service to disable is ATI Hotkey Poller. I also did not choose to let ATI Tool disable the services as I did it myself. Hope this helps. Man this Dual core flies in Wings of Fury, it blew away my FX-57 @ 3.7Ghz. The BH-5 is probably helping out a bit.

Maxi added to the Wall of Fame. For those that don't know, Maxi used the proper format for posting pics. For those that want to be added to the Wall of Fame please use the same style when posting clocks and voltages..... Excellent job Maxi. I'm sure you have all kinds of cooling you're gonna try on that card. Thursday can't get here fast enough.

Nice job Maxi! I need to get a Presler again...this 661 isn't cutting it My core will do 730 pretty easily without catching on fire (65C max). I will try your voltages, but nothing really seems to help the mem at all. 775 = VERY easy, 801 = impossible except in Overdrive.

DDR2 and PCI-e!! If you can afford it, why not... that way you won't have to buy ANOTHER motherboard again when you wanna do DDR2 or upgrade your chip.

Maxi, just checking, are you using Ati-tool to set clocks or just to show the overclocked speeds?

*EDIT: remove link so everyone isn't clicking on it

ATI x1900 BETA DRIVERS 02/01/06
Go to ati.com, click drivers section, search for "x1900 beta"

I got all kinds of excited when I found this, but they don't seem to work for me Note the "How to install..." text. The INF file that they say to use is not in any folder, so I used the CL_29680.inf. The closest thing to the name that they say to use is an INI, not an INF.

I get a driver error and it loads the default Windows driver. I tried both "updating the driver" with the HIS drivers still installed like they say and with just the beta INF on clean uninstall/catuninstall...neither worked.

You're welcome....and if someone gets it working, I'd better be the first to know HOW

Unauthorized download

We're sorry, but this download request cannot be authorized. As an option, you may visit any of the pages below for information about ATI services and products:

1. ati.com home
Connect to ATI's latest information.
2. Customer Care
Access technical support, drivers, and frequently asked questions.

There could be several reasons why you're seeing this page:

* You clicked on a link on a site that is not part of the ATI domain.
* You're using a download manager. Download managers usually offer to search for alternative download locations. While this is nice for the user, it's bad for the webmaster because a download which originated on another site could theoretically still be downloaded from this site, without anybody knowing.
Workaround to this restriction: Set up your download manager to send a HTTP referrer, and when you click on a link on the ATI site the download will then be authorized.
* Your browser did not send a referrer. This normally happens if you right click on a link and select save-as, or if you copy and paste a link into a new browser window and press Enter. It may also be that your browser is set up to not send any referrer. Left clicking on a link works just fine and has been tested in IE, FireFox, Netscape , Opera and Mozilla.
* Some software firewalls (such as Norton Personal Firewall or ZoneAlarm) remove the referrer from HTTP requests which will block any downloads on any site that does a referrer check. Hence such options should always be turned off. In Norton go to the Privacy Settings and disable browser privacy (which doesn't really protect your privacy anyway as your IP address will always be logged regardless of that setting), in ZoneAlarm go to Privacy -> Cookie Control -> Custom and uncheck "remove private header information".
* If you use a mozilla based browser (Mozilla, Firefox or Netscape Navigator), referrer sending can also be deactivated (it is activated by default). To change that setting, browse to "about:config", then search for "network.http.sendRefererHeader". If the value is set to 1, referrer sending is enabled, if it is set to 0, it is disabled. To enable it, double click on it, then change the value.

We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Message for webmasters:
if you are attempting to link directly to files on our servers your readers will be seeing this page, please link to the pages on ati.com.

I guess ATI doesn't like external links?

Hit the the ati.com homepage and search for "x1900 beta" in the driver section.

Maybe I'm a total noob and/or you posted it somewhere else, but how exactly are you getting this to work properly? Heh.
