for the screen some windex and a soft cloth. Cant go wrong. Just try not to get the cheap stuff as it's streaky...

DO NOT USE WINDEX!

I used to use a mild cleaner I got with my Rayban sunglasses and the inside of a tubesock (the texture was perfect).

When I got my first 19" LCD, I loaned my dad my 17" Viewsonic PF775. First thing he did was spray some multipurpose kitchen cleaner on it. It stripped a coating off off the glass, and he tried to say it was like that when he got it cause it looked like wear marks.

Now, all CRTs wont have this coating, but still, use something very very mild.

Rubbing alcohol is the best thing to clean a screen with. Just use a non-abrasive, lint-free cloth. Apply the alcohol to the cloth and rub it on the screen. You don't need to saturate the cloth either. Just enough to get dirt and smudges off.
