I would consider a refurb but remember newegg states in their policy that refurbished items have an extremely high RMA rate. I would consider another new one.
Sorry if this has nothing to do with the post but I absolutely love the VX924. I highly recommend it for gaming.
Cons- Color reproduction is so so. There is a minimal amount of light bleeding on each side of the panel under dark images. Exaggerated refresh rate of 4 ms. More like 32ms.
Pros- Zero ghosting in gaming. Top quality picture. Decent Color after tweaking brightness/contrast/color.
Getting a CRT is a lot less risky than an LCD on the net because of the dead pixel issue. While Newegg is a first class retailer, I would still be scared to go with an LCD refurb.
