Dual Sound Cards for that 4 Channel Experience

Im in the market for a good 4 channel sound card, like an sblive or something, but until then, im wondering....

Im sure it's entirely possible to have 2 sound cards working on your computer system, but is there any sort of interface software that could maybe act as a "Virtual sound card", gathing the 4 channel audio data, then feed each sound card with 2 channels?

Im sure there isn't but no harm in asking.
