Attaching a Thermaltake to a premium asus

I was trying to do this and I didn't know whether or not to put on the cushion, cuz it said to do this just for k7's...was I wrong to put it on the k8?
(big typhoon that is)

I use the Big Typhoon on a Premium without the cushion.. no problem really it works fine for me. This HSF is AWSOME im @ 2.75 and under 100% load for hours only reach 35c
