K8 boot problem.

Has anyone ever heard of a problem with K8 boards that makes you have to actually shut off the computer for a couple minutes to restart it? It seems if I just try to do a straight restart, when it gets to the BIOS startup screen it hangs after detecting the pri and sec IDE and then I have to turn it off for a couple minutes for it to boot up as normal.

By straight restart do you mean hitting the restart button or going to Start>Shut down>restart?

Either way, I just noticed that it will boot, but it takes a minute or 2, whereas when I shut it down all together it boots up fast like normal.
