GPU cooling solution for me..

Sorry, didn't know if to post here or cooling, but here it goes..

All under full LOAD: At stock speed, my Sapphire x800GTO hits 82C (yes, celcius!!, 400/490). When mildly overclocked (500/500), it approaches 90C, and when o/ced to where I like it (and still nowhere near the max, 540/540), its in the mid/high 90s (yes, celcius again, almost boiling water temp).

I am just totally uncomfortable with these temps and they scare me. I've read up on these cards and they are supposed to be max 80C, and even that is high. Some guys report under 60C under load.

So, I definitely need a cooling solution for my GPU. I don't want the PCI fan cards, I tried those and they don't do anything at all. So I would like some aftermarket solution, the best would be HS and Fan combo.

This is the one that I wanted to buy, but the guy in the store told me it won't fit my GTO at all, he says it is made for x1800 or other cards, basically not for the GTO at all. Here is the cooler: http://www.bigfootcomputers.com/Merc...gory_Code=5.95
ZALMAN VF700-CU

thanx for any info, and why doesn't this cooler fit? Also, any links for my specific card cooling would be great, I really need something cuz I don't even like to play games at stock speed as it is right now.

I call bull on the guy in the store

http://www.zalman.co.kr/product/cool...elist_eng.html is the list of compatible VPUs

and http://www.zalman.co.kr/product/cool...elist_eng.html is the incompatable.

Your VPU isn't listed on the incompatible and it looks like it should work. The guy saying it's only for x1800 is full of crap... it works for all up to the x1800.

I have the same cooler on my 9800xt and it works well. I'm happy with it and it was a breeze installing.

I hope that helps you a bit.

EDIT:: 4 stars now... yay for me
