NV Silencer5 VS. Stock Leadtek PX6800 Cooler

Hello all,

So I just ditched my watercooling and now will return to average air cooling. I am a bit out of the "air game" and would like to know what would be better between my stock Leadtek cooler vs the NV Silencer 5 Rev2?

I sure will miss my 42C max temp while overclocked

Thanks all,
Bryan D

NV5 will probably be a BIT better and it dumps the heat out of your system

well I don't know about a 6800 but on my 7800 from stock it went from 55-60 idle down to 40-45c with the silencer, load 80-85, down to 65 max with the silencer.

Cool,

I just picked one up from SVC and will see just how better this is than the stock Leadtek cooler.

I'll post pics when I can,

Well it's dead...

The silencer was hitting the heatsink for voltage chips and when I took of the heatsink, it must of rocked a bit and chipped one of the chips. I was greeted with the smell of burnt electronics followed with no boot. I looked at the chip and one of the corners is gone... I feel so down right now.

I cannot believe that after all the watercooling installations that stressed the card, the card actually died from an installation of an air cooler. Looks like I will be using the X300 for a while.

This sucks for me.
