CPDN Seasonal Attribution Project!

Climateprediction just started new experiment. Heres the short overview of the goals of the project from their webpage:
The climateprediction.net Seasonal Attribution Project uses computing time donated by the general public to run state-of-the-art high-resolution model simulations of the world's climate. These simulations are used to determine the extent to which the risk of occurrence of extreme weather events is attributable to human-induced climate change.
We focus on extreme weather events that occur on a seasonal timescale, and in our current project we focus specifically on the United Kingdom floods of Autumn 2000 which occurred during the wettest autumn ever recorded, causing widespread damage and an estimated insured loss of £ 1.3 billion.

I have just signed up and got a model, and it Boinc shows that it will take around 500hours to complete the model ( 1 thread on my rig in the sig @ 3.9Ghz, the other thread is running sulphur cycle experiment).

Here are the system requipments:
CPU: Pentium 4, 2.4GHz (or equivalent, or higher!) is the minimum CPU suggested to complete a single simulation in under 4 weeks if run continuously. Slower processors will take longer.

RAM: 1GB of RAM is suggested, as the simulation takes up typically between 150-450MB of memory.

Disk space: 500MB of hard disk space should suffice.
Supported platforms: Windows XP/2000/NT and Linux.

Oh and here is an screenshot of working model on my rig - shot

As you can see 1Gb of RAM isnt recommended without a reason, with aditional sulphur cycle experiment running on the other thread memory usage can easily shoot up to 1Gb.
But for you guys out there that have the rigs that can meet the above specs you are more than welcome to sign up.

Great! Just make sure you have gig of RAM or the system will be swapping all the time.
