I have a meter . I paid a lot *less* than the current price. I and am looking to check temperature on a variety of chips. I am thinking of getting one of these.

Any ideas/sources for less expensive solutions?

That is not bad set up just make sure you order type K coupler.
what is idea so you need temp. probe ?
cheaper solution e-bay.. and archilochus solution is good and as simple as it gets.

I will get a type K. Hopefully with a fast sensor capability!

I am hoping to get a handle on actual temps rather than using S/W.

you also could try this product. very good and simple to use.

this is better brand but you can pick cheaper version at harborF. for much less.

LINKY

Costs more. I wonder about sensitivity. Looking to measure some small chips like MOSFETs.

Site above has minimum of $75.

Here is another that does not have the minimum.

Edit: the second link has a lot of choices but are glacially slow. Took them over a week to ship.
