Help with dual boot


hi i installed Knoppix 4.0.2 and i don't have a problem with that but i'd like to change the order of which OS is selected. right now it's default is Knoppix but i want it to go to XP, can someone tell me how to change it or get me a link, thank

Depends on the bootloader you use: if it's grub, you edit menu.lst (most probably /boot/grub/menu.list), if it's like you edit /etc/lilo.conf and then run /sbin/lilo as root

Both of these config files have documentation about how to use them. somewhre in /usr/share/doc probably. Also manpages

You can edit /boot/grub/grub.conf to change this. If you just want to change the default (without re-ordering them), just find where it says
Code:
default 0
and change the 0 to whichever windows is in the order (ie if windows is the 2nd OS listed, change it to 1 and if it's the 3rd, change it to 2 since programmers start counting at 0).
